Billionaire John Greystoke and his wife die while trying to find a meteorite that fell millions of years ago in the African jungle, which is believed to contain incredible energy. Only the businessman's little son remains alive, who is "adopted" by a family of mountain gorillas. Years pass, and the boy who calls himself Tarzan grows into an attractive and powerful young man who communicates and moves like a monkey. Meanwhile, the new head of Greystoke Energies, Bill Clayton, decides to find the legendary meteorite. To do this, he hires environmentalist Jim Porter, who worked with Greystoke, and his daughter Jane, the same age as Tarzan.
